Trio Wolski

Hanna is a co-founder of Trio Wolski together with Petter Ferneman and Kristian Wolski. They got to know each other at the Malmö Academy of Music and started playing together.

The music consists of original compositions, with a mixture of improvisation and well-written arrangements. They utilize their individual qualities and work actively to create music that is both harmonic and dynamic. Although the music has its roots in the Swedish folk music tradition, it breaks free from the tradition which gives it a fresh and personal feel.

In the last three years they have received several nominations and prizes for there work as a band. They were nominated at the Danish Music Awards Folk 2016, as Rising Stars 2017 at Change Music Festival, and at the Swedish Folk & World Gala 2018 and won European Folk Music Award in the 28th German FolkHerbst competition and concert series (2019). In 2020/2021 they are appointed as Ensemble in residence by the organization Musik i Syd.

Hemstad

A concert by Hanna Blomberg

What does it mean to be from Västerås? What does it mean to live in Västerås? What place does the hometown really have in us? In this concert, these questions are answered by the Västerås people's own voices to music of folk musical tones where traditional songs are mixed with new compositions in folk style.

Musicians: Anna Larsson - vocals & guitar, Hanna Blomberg - violin, Tove Bagge - viola, Gerda Holmquist, cello, Malin Sjöqvist - percussion.

Hanna & Sigrid

Hanna Blomberg and Sigrid Kroeker have been performing as a string-duo in churches all over Sweden. In their programme, “En folklig musikutflykt”, traditional folk music is performed in exciting arrangements with a touch of classical tonality. Their repertoire includes traditional songs from Västmanland and Dalarna mixed with original compositions and also an occasional duet by Bela Bartok.

They met when studying classical music at the Malmö academy of music. Even though they both studied classical music, it was their burning interest of Swedish folk music that brought them together.
